Harmonise Your Choir
Teachers’ Professional Development course

Teacher Training Australia, in conjunction with Sweet Adelines Australia has previously offered accredited training courses in a cappella harmony singing called “Harmonise Your Choir”. This Teacher Training Australia (TTA) accredited course is based on Sweet Adelines International educational materials to ‘train the trainers’ interested in teaching the barbershop art form in the classroom. This counts towards PD hours required by NSW DET.

For further information about the course and when the next one is planned, please visit:

Teacher support

Teachers will love the program because they will be offered free resources, support and education in this exciting art form, built on “the finest traditions and techniques of classical choral music, so you know you’re learning proper vocal technique”, according to Deke Sharon from Pitch Perfect and The Sing Off. Young singers will love the experience of singing the 4 part harmonies of barbershop, and the fun songs they’ll learn.

Support for teachers includes:

  • School visits to work with choirs
  • Workshops
  • Free sheet music
